1. Our Core Principle: On-Device & Private
At Klocky, we believe that an alarm clock app should never compromise your personal privacy. We have designed Klocky from the ground up so that your morning routine, camera feed, and voice data remain strictly private and never leave your iPhone.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- No Camera or Video Recording: When you perform movement missions (such as squats or push-ups) or object detection missions, frames are analyzed in real-time in memory using Apple's Vision framework and CoreML. No photos or video recordings are saved, stored, or transmitted to any server.
- No Voice Recordings: When reciting affirmations or verses, speech recognition is performed on-device using Apple Speech. No audio files are recorded or sent to remote servers.
- No Personal Profiles: We do not ask for your name, phone number, email address, or social media accounts to use the alarm features.
3. Anonymous Analytics (PostHog)
To understand app stability, diagnose crashes, and measure high-level engagement (such as which missions are most popular or general retention rates), Klocky uses PostHog for privacy-friendly, anonymized analytics.
PostHog collects non-identifiable technical metrics (such as device model, iOS version, app version, and generic event counts). It does not collect personal identifiers, facial biometrics, location coordinates, or individual content data.
4. Permissions Used on iOS
Klocky may request the following system permissions depending on the missions you configure:
- Notifications: To deliver alarms, critical alerts, and scheduled wake-up triggers.
- Camera: Strictly required for real-time motion detection (squats, pushups) and object verification (e.g. coffee mug, shoes).
- Microphone & Speech Recognition: Strictly required when you choose speech recitation missions.
- Motion & Fitness (CoreMotion): Used locally to count steps and jumping jacks.
You can revoke or adjust any of these permissions at any time via your iOS Settings.
5. Third-Party Sharing and Advertising
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information. We do not integrate third-party ad networks or data brokers.
